In December, Senior Year Magazine, one of the top high school senior Instagram feature accounts, began receiving submissions for their Premier Magazine in print. I went back and forth for weeks on whether to enter the contest and it was not until a couple of hours before the deadline that I decided to submit a few of my favorite images from 2018 and 2019 senior sessions. Senior Year Magazine received approximately 4,000 images and showcased the top 5% in the magazine, which included one of mine! Elizabeth Marini Photography was chosen as one of the Top 200 Senior Photographers Worldwide!
My winning image was a portrait Kassandra “Kassie” Middleton, a high school senior at Jensen Beach High School. Kassie is fluent in American Sign Language and is part of the American Sign Language Honor Society. She played on the JV Volleyball Team and swam on the Varsity Swimming Team. She was a member of The Young Republicans club and campaigned for Brian Mast. She is a member of the Varsity Club and a member of the Teen Trendsetters where her club would go after school and read with students who were struggling in reading. Although, Kassie was already accepted to Jacksonville University with a $100K scholarship for the 4 years to study kinesiology and to the University of Alabama’s Health Sciences program, she is awaiting a few more college responses before she decides where she will attend in the fall. Kassie plans to study physical therapy and one day work with pediatric physical therapy patients.
I decided to share this on my blog as motivation. In the end, the only regrets are the chances we do not take. You never know what are you are capable of unless you try.
