It was a joy to photograph Louis Engelke, a 2025 South Fork High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program graduate, at Memorial Park in Stuart, FL. Louis is not only an accomplished student but also a young man with a deep passion for science, bowling, chess, and travel.

A Future in Neuroscience or Biomedical Engineering

Louis has big plans for his future. He will attend the University of Florida this Fall and pursue a degree in neuroscience or biomedical engineering. His interest in science and how the human brain functions is a testament to his intellectual curiosity and drive to make a positive impact on the world. We incorporated his academic aspirations into the session by selecting spots in Memorial Park that reflect the peaceful, reflective atmosphere that complements his thoughtful and determined nature.

A Love for Chess and Bowling

Outside the classroom, Louis was just as engaged in his extracurricular activities. He was a member of South Fork’s bowling team, which speaks to his competitive spirit and focus. But perhaps even more central to who Louis is is his love for chess. He’s passionate about the game and its strategic challenges, and this summer, he took his passion to a new level by traveling to Panama, where he taught chess to students ranging from elementary school to high school. His dedication to sharing his knowledge and mentoring younger students truly sets him apart as someone who gives back to his community and the world.

During our session at Memorial Park, we aimed to capture the essence of Louis’s journey—from his academic achievements to his love for chess and his future aspirations. The park provided a serene, natural backdrop that allowed his personality to shine through in each photo. Whether he was posed near the park’s beautiful greenery or reflecting on the past year, Louis’s determination and passion for life were evident in every shot.

Looking Ahead

As Louis enters his first college year, his excitement for the future is clear. With dreams of studying neuroscience or biomedical engineering and continuing to impact others through his love of chess, there’s no doubt that Louis has a bright future ahead.
