South Fork High School's Presidential Scholar Candidate - Ty Chatel

Meet Ty Chatel, who was nominated as a Presidential Scholar candidate for South Fork High School.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize some of the nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors.

Ty is also a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist. The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition that began in 1955 to recognize high school students who attain outstanding scores on the PSAT in their junior year of high school and award scholarships.

Ty is currently ranked 9 out of 430 students! He has maintained a 4.0 unweighted G.P.A. and 6.27 weighted G.P.A. while being enrolled in the The International Baccalaureate® (IB) all four years and taking some AP classes.

Throughout high school, Ty was involved in FRC Team 180 S.P.A.M. and Youth in Government.

With a rigorous class load, Ty manages to make time to volunteer with Meals on Wheels and also works every weekend Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the PDQ in Stuart, FL.

I am looking forward to photographing Ty again for his cap and gown photos with all his cords and stoles that he is working so hard to earn.
